Foreign Policy for America Endorses Representative Val Demings (FL) for Election

Leading Representative endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America

WASHINGTON D.C. — Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Val Demings for election to the U.S. Senate. Since 2017, Demings has represented Florida’s 10th congressional district in the U.S. House, where she serves on the Judiciary and Homeland Security Committees as well as on the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence. She is now running to represent Florida in the U.S. Senate. 

"Representative Val Demings is the real deal – a lifetime public servant who devotes every waking hour to keeping Florida families safe,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “Over and over, we’ve watched Representative Demings put country over politics to safeguard our national security and fight for democracy at home and abroad. We need more leaders like Representative Demings in the U.S. Senate, and that’s why we’re proud to endorse her today.”  

After becoming the first in her family to graduate from college, Demings began her career as a social worker. After she embarked on a career in law enforcement. Demings served 27 years of distinguished service, becoming the first woman in Orlando to be appointed as Chief of Police in 2007. In the U.S. House, Demings has built her reputation as a steadfast and principled leader including serving as an impeachment manager during the first impeachment trial of former President Donald Trump.
