Foreign Policy for America Endorses Representative Elissa Slotkin (MI-07) for Election

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Elissa Slotkin for election to the U.S. Senate. Rep. Slotkin is currently a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for Michigan’s 7th District, where she is serving in her third term in Congress. Rep. Slotkin was first elected to represent Michigan’s 8th District in 2018.

“There’s no question Elissa Slotkin is one of the leading national security voices in Congress. She is 100% devoted to keeping Americans safe and her constituents know that,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “What stands out most, though, is how she goes about her work every day in Congress. No one works harder to reach across the aisle, to build working relationships with others who are trying to get things done. She doesn’t grandstand. She doesn’t complain. She just goes to work every day on the big problems facing our country, from securing our supply chains to keeping the internet safe for our kids and getting corruption out of our politics. We’re thrilled to endorse Elissa for a fourth time and we look forward to seeing her leadership in the Senate.”

Prior to Congress, Rep. Slotkin was a CIA analyst who served three tours in Iraq as a militia expert. She also held several positions in defense and intelligence under the Bush and Obama administrations, including roles at the White House and in the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, and as Acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs. Building on the successes of her previous two terms, Rep. Slotkin will continue working to strengthen U.S. supply chains, champion the needs of veterans, and ensure the U.S. is well-positioned to lead on international issues. She will continue to serve as a member of the Armed Services Committee, the Homeland Security Committee, and the Veteran’s Affairs Committee in the 118th Congress.
