Ohio Senator endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - May 31, 2024
WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Senator Sherrod Brown for re-election to the U.S. Senate. Sen. Brown is currently serving his third term as the senior Senator from Ohio.
“Sherrod Brown is a fighter. Every day he goes to work with Ohioans and their interests front of mind, and we’ve seen now that he consistently delivers results. It’s because of that commitment to Ohioans that he’s been such a champion of U.S. leadership on the world stage on human rights, labor rights, and defending democracy,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “He knows that when other countries succeed, it helps American businesses expand their markets and creates jobs here at home. He knows that when we stand in lockstep with our allies, it makes us stronger. And he knows that when labor standards improve around the world, that benefits workers back in Ohio and across the country. For decades, Senator Brown has been a champion for strong, principled U.S. foreign policy, and we’re proud to once again endorse him for re-election.”
Sen. Sherrod Brown is the senior senator from Ohio. Sen. Brown has served in the Ohio House of Representatives, as Ohio's Secretary of State, and as the Representative of Ohio's 13th Congressional District. He was elected to the U.S. Senate in 2006 and has served three consecutive terms. Sen. Brown currently serves as a member of the Agriculture; Veterans' Affairs; Finance; and Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committees. Sen. Brown has been a steadfast advocate for effective U.S. trade policy, including leading efforts to strengthen American manufacturing and clean energy production and to ensure responsible and strategic competition with China. He is a powerful voice for diplomacy, foreign aid, development assistance, and universal human rights.
