mondaire jones

U.S. house, ny-17

Mondaire Jones was first elected to Congress in 2020, becoming the first openly gay, Black member to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. He was unanimously chosen by his colleagues to serve in House leadership and was later named the most legislatively active freshman in Congress. Throughout his term, Mondaire was an outspoken advocate for diplomacy-first foreign policy and continually supported efforts to fully fund the State Department, increase the environmental sustainability of U.S. defense and security infrastructure, and eliminate waste in the defense budget. When he returns to Congress, Mondaire will be a critical champion for U.S. leadership and engagement abroad.
