Foreign Policy for America Endorses Representative Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) for Re-Election 

Leading Representative endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Mikie Sherrill for re-election. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, Representative Sherrill is running to represent New Jersey’s eleventh district for a third term in the U.S. House of Representatives. 

“Mikie Sherrill continues to serve our country – and her constituents – with distinction,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “As a Navy veteran, former federal prosecutor, and now as a member of Congress on the House Armed Services Committee, Mikie has fought to protect our democracy and safeguard our security. From funding cybersecurity and elections protection to revitalizing the State Department, Mikie knows first-hand what’s needed to restore the United States’ standing in the world and we know she can get the job done.” 

Before running for Congress, Rep. Sherrill served in the U.S. Navy from 1994 to 2003, where she flew missions throughout Europe and the Middle East as a Sea King helicopter pilot and worked as a Russian policy officer, attaining the rank of Lieutenant Commander. After leaving the Navy, Sherrill attended law school, worked in private practice and eventually joined the U.S. Attorney’s Office in New Jersey. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, she has consistently advocated for diplomacy-first foreign policy, strong U.S. alliances, and support for democracy and human rights abroad.  

Sherrill joins other FP4A endorsed candidates: Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32), Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Rep. Andy Kim (NJ-03), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), Rep. Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07), and Rep. Susan Wild (PA-07). Our endorsed candidates are chosen because of their consistent leadership in favor of diplomacy- first foreign policy.
