WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Gabe Vasquez for re-election to the U.S. Congress as the Representative from New Mexico's 2nd

Congressional District. Rep. Vasquez is the incumbent candidate in NM-02 and was first elected to represent the district in 2022.

"Gabe is a bright young leader who has committed himself to championing a robust yet humane immigration system, leading New Mexico's clean energy transition, and acting as a voice for the entire Southwest," said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. "As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, Gabe has consistently worked across the aisle to serve our servicemembers and their families at home and abroad. Despite it being only his first term in office, he has brought a new spotlight to his district's contributions to our national security and growth, helping to ensure that Congress listens to the voices of all Americans. We are beyond thrilled to endorse Gabe for re-election and are eager to see his leadership continue into the next Congress."

Rep. Vasquez has used his background as a first-generation Mexican American to pursue a distinguished career in public service. From working as the Executive Director of the Las Cruces Hispano Chamber of Commerce to serving on the Las Cruces City Council, he has taken every opportunity to advocate for his community. In Congress, Rep. Vasquez has worked to strengthen national security infrastructure and championed development efforts that would bring cutting-edge green technologies to New Mexico. In the 118th Congress, Rep. Vasquez serves on the House Armed Services Committee and is the Vice Ranking Member on the Strategic Forces Subcommittee. He also serves on the Committee on Agriculture, where he is a member of the Forestry and Conservation, Research, and Biotechnology Subcommittees.
