Foreign Policy for America Endorses Eugene Vindman for Election in VA-07

Former National Security Council Senior Ethics Official endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America

 FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - July 25, 2024

WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Eugene Vindman for election to Congress as the next Representative from Virginia’s Seventh Congressional District.

“Eugene Vindman has spent his career protecting democracy, at home and abroad. As an infantry officer, paratrooper, and officer in the JAG corps, Eugene dedicated himself to ensuring that the U.S. lived up to our values and stood by our allies and partners. Now, he’s ready to take his service—and the fight to protect our democracy—to Congress,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “Eugene is also ready to be a voice for his friends and neighbors in Virginia. He knows that VA-07's farmers and business owners do better when they can compete and sell their products in international markets. In Congress, he’ll fight for the trade policies that benefit Virginians and help all American businesses succeed on the global stage.”

Former Col. Eugene Vindman, U.S. Army, was born in Soviet Ukraine. His family arrived as refugees with less than $800 in their pockets and worked hard to achieve the American dream. Vindman joined the U.S. Army after college, serving across the world including a tour in Iraq. In 2019, while serving on the White House National Security Council as the senior ethics attorney, he blew the whistle on the infamous phone call in which President Trump attempted to extort Ukraine unless it investigated Joe Biden. After his acquittal in the U.S. Senate, Trump retaliated costing Colonel Vindman his career. Now, Colonel Vindman is running to represent Virginia’s 7th Congressional District, to preserve democracy and advocate for Virginia voters.

Vindman joins other FP4A endorsed candidates: Sen. Sherrod Brown (OH-Sen), Sen. Bob Casey (PA-Sen), Sen. Tim Kaine (VA-Sen), Sen. Tammy Baldwin (WI-Sen), Rep. Ruben Gallego (AZ-Sen), Rep.
