Foreign Policy for America Endorses Representative Betty McCollum (MN-04) for Re-Election

Human rights champion endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America

WASHINGTON D.C. — Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Betty McCollum for re-election. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee where serves as Chair of the Defense Subcommittee, Representative McCollum has ensured our servicemembers and their families are funded along with advocating for diplomatic and development efforts.

Representative McCollum has dedicated her career towards fighting for Minnesotans and advancing human rights around the world. She was elected to represent Minnesota’s 4th district in 2000, becoming the second woman from Minnesota elected to serve in the U.S. House of Representatives. As Chair of the Defense Appropriations Subcommittee, McCollum supports smart and strategic investments to support service members and their families and is leading the charge on efforts to improve military health care and end military sexual assault. As the co-chair of the Global Health Caucus, McCollum works across the aisle to improve maternal and child health combat global hunger, and promote democracy and human rights. Before her election to Congress, Representative McCollum served on the North St. Paul City Council and later in the Minnesota House of Representatives.
