Leading Representative endorsed by nonpartisan Foreign Policy for America
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - March 25, 2021
WASHINGTON D.C. - Foreign Policy for America announced today its endorsement of Representative Andy Kim for re-election. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Representative Kim is running to represent New Jersey’s third district for a third term in the U.S. House of Representatives.
“Since his election, Andy Kim has been a strong voice for common sense diplomatic solutions to our challenges,” said Andrew Albertson, Executive Director of Foreign Policy for America. “He is 100% committed to ensuring our actions abroad deliver security and prosperity for American families at home. As the U.S. faces evolving national security challenges like cybersecurity and climate change, we need Andy’s thoughtful, experienced leadership now more than ever, and that’s why we’re so proud to endorse him for re-election.”
Prior to Congress, Kim served in Afghanistan as Strategic Advisor to Generals David Petraeus and John Allen. Kim went on to serve as Director of Iraq in Obama’s National Security Council where he coordinated the crisis response to countering the rise of ISIS. As a member of the House Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees, Kim has played a critical leadership role in rethinking American engagement with China and modernizing U.S. cybersecurity defenses
Kim is one of Foreign Policy for America’s first four endorsements of the 2022 cycle, along with Rep. Colin Allred (TX-32), Rep. Tom Malinowski (NJ-07), and Rep. Abigail Spanberger (VA-07). These four were chosen because of their consistent leadership in favor of diplomacy-first foreign policy.
Foreign Policy for America is a nonpartisan advocacy organization working to strengthen support for principled American engagement in the world. We support policies that keep Americans safe and out of conflicts, advance prosperity for all, and are true to our country’s highest values.
